BUILDING CLIMATE RESILIENCE THROUGH TAKAFUL - Part 2: Developing Takaful Market Systems

December 05, 2024

‘Building Climate Resilience Through Takaful’ is a publication series produced by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI) focused on leveraging Takaful for building financial resilience and mitigating climate risks for Muslim majority communities and countries. The first report highlighted the opportunities, challenges and recommendations for Takaful. This report, ‘Part Two: Developing Takaful Market Systems’, analyses the Takaful market, its structures, key support functions, challenges and growth potential, providing insights into how it can be further developed, scaled and distributed to meet the needs of Muslim-majority countries, regions with significant Muslim populations and non-Muslims seeking alternative financing modalities.
