Overview

The Union of the Comoros is designated by the World Bank as a Least Developed Country (LDC). Almost half the population lives below the national poverty line, and slightly more than half live in climate-vulnerable areas. Risk finance and insurance solutions are urgently needed to protect lives and livelihoods.

UNDP’s Insurance and Risk Finance Facility is working with the government of the Union of the Comoros to increase capacity, support policy development and improve data for financial management.
