Overview

A lower-middle-income country, Cambodia is heavily reliant on climate-sensitive economic sectors like agriculture, fishing and tourism. As the impacts of climate change intensify, these key sectors are under threat from increased flooding, drought, saline intrusion and extreme temperatures. Insurance and risk finance can help build resilience for those most at risk and protect the country’s development.

UNDP’s Insurance and Risk Finance Facility is providing technical assistance in Cambodia to identify insurance and risk finance solutions that meet the country’s needs, increasing institutional capacity and determining pathways to protect economic activity and safeguard human development.
